Our Middle School Programs

School Year Programming (2:45pm - 5:30pm)
Programming for middle schoolers is where we got our start, and it remains a vital part of our mission.  Our program provides your youth (grades 6-8) with an exciting, challenging place to go after school.  While with us, your child will be involved in unique programs that stimulate them socially, emotionally and academically.

  • With a 1:10 staff to child ratio, you can know that your child will get plenty of personal attention.
  • Located at Christ the King Lutheran Church, we're just 2 blocks from Highview Middle School - within easy walking distance.
  • A healthy, daily snack and milk is provided to help fuel your child through the rest of their day.
  • We plan engaging educational activities, including group work, with exercise and free time.

Youth get to choose the activities in which they want to participate, including gym games, pool, foosball, computer games, homework help, dsgf cooking, art projects, leadership training, theatre activities, service projects and much, much more.  The cost is just $25 a month, and a sliding scale is available.  No one is even turned away for an inability to pay.  Bring a friend and come to see what we’re all about!

Teen Nights
During the school year, join us at the New Brighton Family Service Center on Friday evenings from 7:30-9:30pm for a night of fun!  Cost is FREE for CPY-registered participants and $3 for non-registered youth.  Activities include basketball, volleyball, tye-dying, movies, dances and so much more.  We hope you stop by and check it out!

Summer Fun!
Does your middle school youth believe in magic?  How about you?  Well, here at CPY - we do!  That's why we're cooking up a summer program that's so much fun it can only be described as magical!  Youth entering grades 6-8 are sure to have a great time with us as we have all kinds of new adventures...because at CPY, we think summers were meant for fun - so fun is what we provide!  Programs now include FRIDAYS!

Offered: June 9 - July 25th (Session I)
               July 28 - August 15 (Session II)

All programs run Monday through Friday from 12:00pm until 5:30pm (great for sleeping late in the summer!), and transportation to and from the program is available for a small fee.

Our program features:

  • Daily lunch and snack (included in the cost)
  • Twice-weekly field trips
  • Theme-based, age-appropriate enrichment activities
  • Daily outdoor activities (as weather permits)
  • Transportation to and from home for those who require it*
  • Lots of flexibility!

Each week features one day spent at Long Lake or Snail Lake Regional Park and one day on a fieldtrip to places like local fish & wildlife preserves, Twins or Saints games, Fort Snelling, and even ValleyFair! Our "on-site" (non-field trip) days are spent doing a variety of activities such as recreational games, arts and crafts, cooking and music lessons.

Cost of Programs:  Please note that the registration fee and first week's fee must accompany your registration form!

Early Registration (before April 30)
